Hi, I’m Brad Hunter of Hunter Mountain Builders
I come from a long line of family carpenters, starting with my grandfather who was a Boston union carpenter many, many years ago. My father was a home builder in the Massachusetts north shore area for many years. My older brother helped bring me into the carpentry trade and was very influential in getting me started as a home builder by partnering with me to help build my first two log homes in 1988.
I continued to build log homes in the years from 1988 to 1995. During that time, I built many conventionally framed homes as well and eventually started building lakefront homes in the Lake Winnipesaukee area of New Hampshire.
I continued to build affordable and luxury lakefront homes in New Hampshire’s lakes region under the business name Hunter Homes, Inc. up through 2016. At that time, I decided to make a life change and moved to Naples, Florida where I became a Florida Certified Licensed General Contractor. I continued to remodel homes and condominiums in Southwest Florida until 2020 when Covid 19 prompted me to move back to New Hampshire.
Now as Hunter Mountain Builders, I build homes in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire while maintaining my Florida Certified General Contractor license.
Starting my career as a pattern maker in Massachusetts, I made patterns for castings that were used in aluminum and brass foundries. I loved working with wood and realized that I wanted to pursue a job in the construction industry. My wife, Susan, and I decided to move to the lakes region of NH in 1985 to raise our family and have loved living in such a beautiful place. In my off time, I loves to spend time tending to my small apple orchard, sawing wood on my old sawmill and working outdoors.
